Book Review – The Noticer

Book Review

“The Noticer” by Andy Andrewsthe-noticer

Having never read anything by Andy Andrews before I was a little nervous about this book.  However, it is going down as the best book I have read this year.  So, much so I made it required reading for my 12 year son, I have encouraged dozens of students to read this book and every time I talk to someone I am sharing this book with them.

Andy does a great job of sharing with us through story about how we can look at life in such a way that we can truly change where we are and how we think.  In working with students and parents all the time I see how many are looking at life as if it is just a waste of time and nothing valuable is going to come out of ones circumstances.  However, “The Noticer” really changes that concept for us.

“Sometimes, all a person needs is a little perspective.”

In the book, Jones spends time connecting with people and sharing in life with them in such a way that they begin to think differently.  Problems that looked like they were not fixable are able to be fixed and situations that looked desperate are no longer looking desperate.  Everything changes when we change our perspective about our current situations.

This book should be required reading for anyone and everyone that you connect with that is struggling in life or just needs to look at things differently.

  1. Thanks for the review – I received this as an e-book from Nelson as part of their blogger book review program, but haven’t read it yet. Sounds like a good one.
